Virtual Open Week Webinar

Leading in Complexity and Diversity

Leading in Complexity and Diversity

Speakers: Tim Meyers, Dr Kirk Franklin, Dr Jude Long

Friday 4th September

7pM - 8pM

Come and join in a live and interactive conversation with Tim Meyers, Jude Long, and Kirk Franklin, as they discuss, and reflect on the opportunities and challenges, of “leading in complexity and diversity.” We will explore how issues such as our own culture and background, organisational values, context, personality, gender, and Christian experience have such an impact on how we lead, and our capacity to lead effectively. We will reflect on how it feels as leaders when things aren’t going so well, or when circumstances beyond our control make leadership even more challenging. And we’ll talk about ways of creating an empowering, positive and God-honouring culture, even amid complexity and change, to bring out the very best in others!

Tim Meyers is the CEO/Executive Principal of Eastern College and the Melbourne School of Theology. Tim has held numerous senior executive leadership positions in both local churches, as well as in national and international mission.

Jude Long is the Vice Principal Academic of MST and Eastern College Australia. Prior to starting this position in 2019, she was the Principal of Nungalinya College in Darwin for 8 years. Nungalinya is the combined church training college for Aboriginal Christians across Australia. She has also worked as Dean of Students at the Bible College of Victoria, Research Officer for the National Anglican Church, and as a youth worker and pastoral worker for several churches.

Kirk Franklin has held leadership roles with Wycliffe Bible Translators and Wycliffe Global Alliance for 40 years, including more recently leading a global team of 15 people of 12 nationalities. His training is in media-communications, theology, missiology, intercultural studies and leadership from institutions in Australia, the US and South Africa and has lectured in missions and leadership in academic institutions in Australia, France, Russia, Denmark, Panama and Colombia.
